Job Description
We have a permanent fulltime position available for a Laboratory Technician to work from Tuesday to Saturday within the General Chemistry section of our Chemistry team at Eurofins ELS in Wellington and we are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.
The purpose of the role is to carry out accurate analysis of soil water and waste water samples as required by the customer. Commercial Laboratory testing background is preferred.
Key Position Objectives:
Reporting to the Chemistry Laboratory Manager the role will focus on but is not limited to:
- Prepare samples for analysis by mixing filtering blending and weighing in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods
- Operate calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required
- Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.
- Good knowledge of chemistry tests including Nitrate/Nitrite Ammonia Chloride is preferred.
Qualifications :
- Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
- Experience in a commercial laboratory handling FIA IC and other instruments will be an advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately logically and directly.
- Knowledge of standard office applications especially MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Must have a valid NZ work visa or be a NZ resident
