Job Description

Position: Mechanical Fitter (Open to Mechanical Development Engineer, Assembly Engineer, Assembly Technician, Mechanical Build Engineer, Fitter, Machine Build Engineer/Technician)

Location: Rotherham, Yorkshire

Remuneration: 30,000 - 35,000 depending on relevant industry experience + company benefits

You'll need to be curious, inquisitive, and someone who doesn't shy away from a challenge.

We build robot-based, electromechanical automation systems for businesses that don't settle for average solutions. Every project we deliver is bespoke, complex, and built to solve industrial problems that others struggle to crack. And now, we're looking for a Mechanical Fitter to help us do more of it.

What you'll be doing

  • Building high-quality, custom automation systems from technical drawings that require precision, patience, and skill.
  • Testing mechanical systems to make sure they're rock solid and meet safety standards.
  • Identifying mechanical faults and, more importantly, fixing them.
  • Collaborating with other teams to improve processes, suggest solutions, and keep projects moving.
  • Visiting client sites to install systems, often in high-tech, safety-critical sectors.

What we need from you

  • Hands-on experience of mechanical fitting, development work, machine building, site installation, with skills in tapping, grinding, drilling, machining (lathes and milling machines) etc.
  • Knowledge of how industrial systems work, particularly their safety systems.
  • To work from engineering/technical drawings without breaking a sweat.
  • A qualification in mechanical engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent) or relevant industry experience.
  • A knack for solving problems and being able to explain what's going on to people who don't speak "engineer."
  • A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel when required.
  • We are unable to support applications from non-permanent UK residents.

Bonus points if you've worked in high-stakes environments like System Integration, Special Purpose Machinery Manufacturing, Automation & Robotics.
