We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team in Austin TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications counseling patients and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety. As a pharmacist you will play an essential role in the healthcare team by ensuring safe and effective medication practices providing education and minimizing medicationrelated risks.
Duties- Dispense medications accurately and safely according to prescription orders.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy appropriateness and potential drug interactions.
- Counsel patients on the proper use of medications potential side effects and adherence to prescribed therapies.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess plan and adjust drug therapy to optimize patient care.
- Monitor and manage medication therapy providing interventions as necessary to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws regulations and institutional policies maintaining accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions.
- Manage medication inventory ensuring the availability of necessary drugs and supplies.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives related to pharmacy services.
- Provide education and guidance to healthcare staff on medication management safety and best practices.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist preferably in an inpatient or hospital setting.
- Experience in medication therapy management and drug interaction analysis.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems automated dispensing technologies and medication administration.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws regulations and clinical best practices.
- Active TX State Pharmacist License (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- CONTRACT PHARMACIST (712) 13 WEEKS 9:00P7:00A7On and 7Off36 Guaranteed hours per week
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced highpressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.
