Job Description

About Pasqal

PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) and associated software tools.
Our innovative technology enables us to address use cases that are currently beyond the reach of the most powerful supercomputers; these cases can concern industrial application challenges as well as fundamental science needs.
In addition to the exceptional computing power they provide QPUs are highly energy efficient and will contribute to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the HPC industry.

Internship Logical architecture of a neutralatom quantum computer

Enabled by Nobel Prizewinning technology and a fullstack approach Pasqal leverages neutralatom technology for realworld use cases and raised 100 M in funding to build the first faulttolerant quantum computer.

Join Us in Building the First FaultTolerant Quantum Computer with Neutral Atoms!

Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of quantum computing Our team is dedicated to realizing the first faulttolerant quantum computer based on neutral atom technology. We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team and contribute to cuttingedge research at the intersection of quantum error correction logical architecture and physical gate optimization.

About Us

We are a dynamic team of passionate physicists with PhDs in atomic physics quantum error correction and related fields. Our work combines deep theoretical insights with innovative experimental approaches to design and implement the building blocks of faulttolerant quantum computation.

Project Summary The intern will work on the design analysis and implementation of quantum error correction codes logical architectures and optimized gate protocols. The project involves exploring advanced theoretical concepts and leveraging numerical simulations to solve key challenges in faulttolerant quantum computing.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself with key topics such as neutral atom qubits quantum error correction codes (e.g. surface codes LDPC codes) and physical gate optimization techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of quantum error correction strategies tailored to neutral atom platforms.
  • Derive and analyze theoretical models for logical gates and physical operations (e.g. magic state preparation).
  • Develop and implement Python code for efficient numerical simulations of quantum dynamics and error correction circuits.
  • Collaborate with team members to evaluate and optimize the performance of logical architectures under realistic error models.
  • Present your findings and contribute to research publications and presentations.

Requirements

  • You are currently enrolled in a relevant Masters or advanced undergraduate program in physics applied mathematics or computer science.
  • You have completed coursework in quantum mechanics quantum computing and numerical methods.
  • You have experience with Python programming and are comfortable with numerical modeling and simulations.
  • You are familiar with concepts such as quantum error correction or density matrix formalism (knowledge of neutral atom systems is a plus).
  • You are a proactive motivated individual with excellent problemsolving skills and a strong desire to contribute to groundbreaking research in quantum computing.

Why Join Us

  • Work at the forefront of quantum computing research and development.
  • Be part of a team that combines theoretical and experimental expertise in an exciting fastpaced environment.
  • Gain handson experience in designing and simulating cuttingedge quantum error correction protocols.
  • Collaborate on research that aims to shape the future of faulttolerant quantum computation.

Join us and help pave the way to the first faulttolerant quantum computer!
