We are in need of a Development Chemist to assist the product technical team at a leading chemical manufacturing company near Chester NJ. In this role the Development Chemist will conduct and coordinate product and process development application testing and material evaluation methods to support the advancement of their product lines.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry product development and process optimization with a focus on delivering highquality customized solutions for their diverse customer base.
Responsibilities

Design and conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the properties and performance of product formulations. Analyze raw materials and products to determine their chemical and physical properties preparing lab samples according to formulas and experimental procedures. Qualify and assess the value of new materials through laboratory testing.

Analyze experimental data to identify trends make informed recommendations and develop applications methods and product formulas. Document all experimental processes conditions and results to assess product performance stability chemical composition purity and other key characteristics.

Work closely with crossfunctional teams including production quality control and marketing to ensure product viability optimize formulations and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with R&D to share findings and support the development of new products and market opportunities.

Provide technical expertise and formulation support to the sales team and customers. Assist in troubleshooting customer complaints related to product applications offering product recommendations and solutions to meet customer needs.

Support the progression of lab efficiency and productivity by providing training and guidance for lab technicians and interns. Ensure all laboratory equipment and instruments are used safely and properly maintained. Operate maintain and test lab equipment promptly identifying any issues and notifying the Lab Director of equipment malfunctions.

Accurately log organize and communicate experimental data and results. Prepare technical reports papers and input data into the database system for further analysis and decisionmaking.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A college degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field is a PLUS.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience is required; experience in formulating materials is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic chemistry terminology and its relationship to material formulation and performance.
- Ability to collect research and analyze data using both knowledge and experience to design workflows procedures and experiments.
- Proactively identifies and resolves issues skillfully gathering and analyzing information to develop alternative solutions.
- Demonstrates sound and accurate judgment making timely and informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Displays original thinking and creativity in addressing challenges generating new ideas and suggesting improvements to processes and formulations.
- Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work actively monitoring and reviewing own work to ensure highquality results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and crossfunctional teams. Proven ability to collaborate proactively and constructively with internal staff and other departments.
