About Your Company

Our partner is a foreignowned entity with a unique foundation of strategic board members which allows them to drive investment opportunities between China and global markets through their QDLP / QFLP licenses.

We are looking for an Investment Director to lead their operation in Hong Kong & Shenzhen working closely with their mainland headquarters. This role will be a critical strategic hire in driving fund growth and managing cross border investments across the AsiaPacific region.

A strong understanding of the regulatory and business landscape in mainland China is essential.



About your role

Set up and Regional Coordination

  • Lead the establishment and operational management of the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices ensuring alignment with HQs strategic goals.

  • Develop and maintain close communication with Hainan HQ to coordinate on investment strategies compliance and reporting.


Investment Strategy & Execution

  • Collaborate with the HQ team to source evaluate and execute private equity investments across APAC focusing on growth buyout and emerging technology funds.

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence portfolio construction and monitoring of investments ensuring alignment with HQs objectives and performance targets.

  • Build and manage relationships with fund managers partners and stakeholders leveraging both local insights and HQs resources.


Fundraising and Client Relations

  • Partner with Hainan HQ on fundraising initiatives representing Stonewood Keys investment capabilities to potential investors and institutional clients.

  • Prepare presentations pitches and RFPs in alignment with HQs strategic goals to drive capital commitments.


Risk and Compliance Management

  • Coordinate with Hainan HQs compliance team to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maximize the use of QDLP and QFLP licenses.

  • Conduct risk assessments for investments contributing to HQs broader risk management framework.


Market Research and Strategic Development

  • Monitor market trends sector developments and regulatory updates across APAC particularly within mainland China providing insights to Hainan HQ to support unified decisionmaking.

  • Represent Stonewood Key at industry conferences and networking events working with HQ to enhance the companys visibility and partnership base.




What you will need to succeed


  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics or related field; CFA or equivalent qualification is advantageous.

  • 710 years of private equity or asset management experience with a focus on APAC markets and a proven track record of business success in mainland China.

  • Strong understanding of mainland Chinas regulatory financial and business landscape with experience managing crossborder investment and compliance requirements.

  • Indepth knowledge of the private equity landscape in New Zealand Australia Hong Kong Singapore Japan India and Korea.

  • Native or fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese a plus.

  • Demonstrated expertise in team leadership investment analysis and client relationship management.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with regional HQ offices to achieve strategic objectives.
