Kitchen Assistant. Priesty Fields Care Home
- £11.49 per hour
- 28.5 hours per week including some weekend working.

Your Role as a Kitchen Assistant
As a Kitchen Assistant you’ll play a vital role in supporting our culinary team to deliver delicious nutritious meals that enhance our residents’ daily lives. Working closely with our Chef you’ll help with all aspects of kitchen operations including:
- Preparing Ingredients: Washing peeling and chopping fresh produce to ensure meals are made with care and precision.
- Assisting with Cooking: Supporting the Chef in cooking and adding the final touches to make every meal special.
- Serving Meals: Helping with plating and serving meals ensuring they meet dietary requirements and presentation standards.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Keeping the kitchen spotless by cleaning equipment washing dishes and adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Stock Management: Monitoring and rotating stock to maintain freshness and assisting with inventory checks.

*Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘WAGESTREAM’.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in catering (preferred but not essential).
- Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but full training provided).
- A positive attitude willingness to learn and commitment to creating a friendly residentfocused environment.
