- You will be responsible for project budgets and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable, and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
- You will support the Operations Director and other senior stakeholders to directly influence long term development of strategy for a function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.

You’ll Be Responsible For
- Being responsible for acting as project director for an established programme.
- Managing the account management and client reporting.
- Planning, managing, and monitoring the project, reporting any areas of concern in a timely manner, and you will recommend ways to resolve any issues as they arise and take ownership of them.
- Complying with Mace processes and procedures and delivering our services in line with Mace core values.
- Managing and be accountable for the delivery of the programme and projects.
- Owning and providing all client liaison and reporting, supported by the wider team of consultants.
- Being fully aware of the project objectives in line with the project execution plan, managing and supervising the relevant project team/parties to achieve these objections.
- Managing and directing multiple contractors and consultants engaged on high-profile projects at various stages of work.
- Being actively engaged in health, safety, and well-being.
- Participating in planning and monitoring the progress of the programme and suite of contracts.
- Managing and owning stakeholder communication and management.
- Ensuring project budgets are complied with.
- Ensuring quality systems are in place and suitably managed and monitored.
- Managing relevant meetings and site walks and ensuring these are suitably recorded.
- Being actively involved in risk management.
- Ensuring contract administration is up to date and coordinated across multiple programmes of work.
- Creating and managing multiple procurement activities for a varied range of building works.
- Communicating with all project parties/stakeholders and ensuring suitable records are maintained.
- Working collaboratively and always in an inclusive manner.
- Overseeing HSE rules and regulations and ensuring a proactive approach.
You’ll Need To Have
- Recognised degree in Architecture/ Interior Design/ Project Management.
- Registered professional or chartered license.
- Extensive professional experience, including experience in workplace/office HQ fit-out projects in a senior role.
You’ll Need Also
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the construction sector.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
Desired candidate profile
- Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate large teams and oversee all aspects of a project.
- Project Management Expertise: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, Agile, Prince2) to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial management to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to manage client relationships, report to senior management, and coordinate among diverse teams.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues quickly and find practical solutions to keep the project on track.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to resolve conflicts, manage stakeholder expectations, and handle vendor or subcontractor issues.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and make decisions that support long-term organizational goals.
- Risk Management: Skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure successful project completion.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the specific industry or sector in which the project is taking place (e.g., construction, IT, engineering, etc.).
- Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and keep the project moving toward deadlines.
