Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Reviewing and commenting on design consultant's design and contractor's design submittals for acceptability, compliance, and incorporation of comments from client/end user/stakeholder.
  • Inspecting permanent works executed by the contractor on site and provide commentary detailing any deficiencies/non-conformance and necessary corrective actions.
  • Reviewing and commenting on consultant's submissions for concept design, preliminary design, and detailed design.
  • Reviewing and commenting on tender documents, bills of quantities, unit rates, cost estimates and participate in tender evaluation.
  • Reviewing and commenting on contractor's shop drawings, RFI and other contractual submittals.
  • Performing and providing technical and commercial review/supports to the client.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll Need To Have

  • A relevant degree qualification.
  • Proven project delivery experience within the aviation sector.

  • Relevant professional membership or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
  • 1. Project Design and Concept Development

  • Design Leadership: Senior architects are responsible for leading the design process of projects, from conceptual sketches to final design. They ensure the design aligns with the client’s vision, budget, and program requirements.
  • Creative Direction: They develop innovative architectural solutions that address both aesthetic and functional needs, focusing on the design’s integration with the environment and surrounding space.
  • Space Planning: Senior architects create effective layouts that maximize the utility of space, enhance the user experience, and adhere to building codes and safety regulations.
  • 2. Project Management and Coordination

  • Managing Project Teams: Senior architects lead teams of architects, designers, and other professionals. They assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure that the project progresses smoothly.
  • Client Liaison: They act as the main point of contact between the client and the project team, ensuring that the client’s goals and expectations are met while maintaining clear communication throughout the design and construction process.
  • Timeline and Budget Oversight: Senior architects manage the project timeline and budget, ensuring that the design stays within the client's financial constraints and is completed on time.

Civic Engagement: Senior architects often work on public projects such as schools, government buildings, and public spaces. They take into account the social, cultural, and economic impacts of the design on the surrounding community.
Urban Planning: In some cases, senior architects contribute to urban planning efforts, designing spaces that promote community well-being, connectivity, and sustainability.
