Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this role is to work in a team to design build and manage a financial planning analysis & reporting function for APAC UP&E Finance:

  • Fitforpurpose for a startup environment focusing on areas that best support the groups aggressive growth strategy and
  • Scalable for the worldclass organization that we are setting out to build.
  • Note: APAC covers Japan Korea Australia New Zealand SEA India & South Asia

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage annual P&L budget and forecasts for selected APAC territories (covering Japan and Korea)
  • Perform and facilitate financial validation processes on revenues and costs identify key financial risks and opportunities and report the updates in forms P&L statements and financial excel models.
  • Partner with key regional business leaders and finance teams to achieve financial targets and drive financial performances.
  • Work as a team member of APAC Finance to play a crossregional APAC roles such as managing APAC revenue pivot tables and consolidating regional forecast deliverables.

Recurring processes:

  • Annual budgeting process
  • Quarterly financial forecasting and pacing (quarterly closing)
  • Quarterly licensee reporting of royalties

Examples of specific tasks (that one may be involved):

  • Facilitate financial forecast discussions with key market business leaders analyze and identify key business drivers risks and opportunities.
  • Perform report and deliver financial forecast analysis comparing vs. budget and prior year performance in forms of excel financial models.
  • Communicate and support licensees with forecast and royalty uploading processes using internally developed internetbased systems.
  • Preparation of forecast submission templates and facilitate the submission from licensees and rendering parties.
  • Preparation of presentation slides for annual budget and quarterly reviews with senior management teams
  • Research and preparation of market or competitive data and information reports to uncover business opportunities and risks on an adhoc basis

General:

  • Provide strong professional and technical leadership implementing best practices.
  • Process Improvement (financial & operational)

Qualifications :

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Technical & Professional:

  • Career Level: Experienced
  • Basic Qualification: bachelors degree in finance or related field required (e.g. accounting)
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience (in a Consumer Products business or Global Media & Entertainment industry a plus) in a finance function
  • Solid accounting background & technical expertise
  • Qualified accounting and finance skills (i.e. certified accountant Mastery in business administrations) are plus
  • Native/ Fluent language skills in Japanese (ability to facilitate and run discussions) and Advanced skills in English (ability to read/write/interpret smoothly ability to speak in simple business settings)
  • Experience with systems such as SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (ability to create financial models from PowerPivot and Data Modeling)
  • PowerPoint skills including ability to tell a story using PowerPoint

General:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Applicant should be a team player and be able to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work across multiple divisions.
  • Takes initiative and lead on projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in this fast paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving including analytical and information system skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work assignments and work well under pressure
  • Must be accurate highly organized with great attention to detail
