Job Description
As a Class 1 Tramper driver you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. Your role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our logistics network. You will be operating stateoftheart vehicles on a meticulously planned shift pattern ensuring the timely delivery of palette loads to HGVaccessible locations.
- Undertake a minimum of four nights per week away from base demonstrating commitment to the role and its demands.
- Utilise your vehicle as overnight accommodation at one of our secure locations ensuring readiness for early morning operations.
- Operate within a designated region surrounding your base depot requiring thorough geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies to maintain our exemplary safety record.
- Conduct thorough pretrip inspections of your vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all deliveries mileage and any incidents encountered during your shifts.
- Serve as a professional representative of DPD upholding the companys reputation through your conduct and appearance at all times.
- Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in managing varying weather conditions and traffic situations to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with depot staff fellow drivers and customers to optimise logistics operations and maintain high standards of service.
Qualifications :
Essential Qualifications for this Critical Role:
- Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence: Possession of this licence is mandatory and nonnegotiable for this position.
- Extensive Class 1 Experience: A minimum of 12 months of verifiable Class 1 driving experience is imperative. This ensures the candidate possesses the necessary skills to handle the complexities of longdistance haulage.
- Current UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card: This certification is a legal requirement and must be uptodate at all times.
- Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card: This is essential for compliance with driving hours regulations and must be maintained throughout employment.
