Roles and responsibilities
The Design Director – Urban Design will be leading the Urban Design Management Function, will be responsible for addressing the design aspects of urban development at all levels. To review existing plans and analyze urban design issues at the level required (city scale to lot scale) and make recommendations for change, as necessary. To work with engineering and planning staff on resolving design issues. To provide advice on elements of urban design. To make presentations when required etc.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement design strategies and processes to ensure successful completion of projects
- Lead and manage a team of design professionals to ensure successful completion of projects
- Oversee the design process from concept to completion
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure design standards are met and maintained
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Analyze and evaluate design trends and technologies to ensure projects are up to date
- Develop and implement design policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and mentorship to design team members
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional registration in engineering, architecture, or related field
- 25+ years of experience in design management.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary diverse team.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering and design principles
