- Perform monthend close activities including preparing and posting journal entries analyzing variances and drawing conclusions from available data.
- Assist in completion of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Lead the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and develop followup action plans to resolve reconciling items.
- Analyze accounting transactions financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy and completion and provide variance explanations.
- Apply judgement and expertise to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in workload planning to ensure coverage and timely completion of tasks.
- Identify and resolve issues independently escalating to management as necessary.
- Supervise train and coach less experienced team members providing guidance on daytoday activities career development and technical accounting matters.
- Take ownership of more complex accounting tasks such as 1031 exchanges and serve as a mentor to junior team members.
- Develop subject matter expertise for legal entities supported by the corporate accounting team.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate accounting teams operations.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including FP&A treasury and tax to support organizational objectives.
- Identify improvement opportunities and apply best practices to the teams processes to drive efficiency.
- Play a key role in special projects and ad hoc requests such as supporting the yearend audit internal financial reporting compliance initiatives and tax filings.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax packages and personal property tax filings.
- Crosstrain in different areas of the Corporate Accounting department in order to serve as backup as needed.
Qualifications :
- 46 years of experience in Accounting or Finance with strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency on Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in managing tasks while maintaining highquality standards and meeting deadlines.
- Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills with the ability to working independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective multitasking and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field.
Preferred skills but not required:
- Major ERP system experience preferably Oracle.
- Experience working with internal and external auditors.
- CPA or CPA candidate.
Pay Range: $95000 $110000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
