You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailYou will maintain effective communication with the Shift Leader at all times and complete activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans by following all safety procedures while carrying out any tasks. You will responsible to look after all the tools supplied by the Hotel in a professional manner, and correctly maintain and deposit them after finishing the shift and to suggest cost saving ideas as and when possible, not limited to the Engineering Department
1. Installation of Electrical Systems:
Install wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, lighting, and other electrical components in new and existing buildings.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and wiring schematics to determine the best installation methods.
Set up and test electrical panels and equipment to ensure functionality.
2. Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues such as faulty wiring, damaged components, or power failures.
Repair or replace defective components, including switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and safely.
3. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work adheres to local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
Identify and mitigate potential hazards to prevent accidents, fires, or power outages.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols while working.
4. Testing and Inspection:
Conduct tests on electrical systems using tools such as multimeters, voltage testers, and thermal imaging devices.
Inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and functionality.
Document findings and report any issues to clients or supervisors.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, and contractors, to complete projects.
Communicate with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide solutions.
Provide guidance and training to apprentice electricians, when applicable.
College diploma or equivalent qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of similar experience
Past experience of working in Maldives
Skills and Knowledge:
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in installing and maintaining electrical systems, including wiring, circuitry, and equipment.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues effectively.
Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using electrical tools and equipment, such as wire strippers, conduit benders, and power drills.
3. Certifications and Licenses:
Required: Valid electrician license or certification, as mandated by local or national regulations.
Preferred: Specialized certifications, such as those in energy efficiency, solar power systems, or advanced industrial wiring.
