SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
To assist the workshop engineering team in general maintenance of the hire fleet and related duties including yard activities and general labouring.
OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform various tasks related to yard operations including but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment USE of FLT maybe required.
- Building and organising pallets or crates.
- Operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes.
- Handling materials according to safety guidelines.
- Supporting Engineers in their duties when required.
- Supporting depot with deliveries when required by driving company vehicles.
- Housekeeping including general yard labour.
- Stock takes.
- Ensuring correct administrative completion.
- Coresponsibility for order and tidiness in the workshop.
- Any other work relating to the workshop.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic command of the English language both orally and in writing.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills FLT Licence
- Full Driving Licence
- Basic Microsoft Skills
- Experience of Workshop / Yard Environment
- Basic safety awareness and understanding
- A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing breakdowns
- Selfmotivated with capability of working independently
- Ability to prioritise effectively under pressure when required
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Able to travel throughout the UK as required
- Undertake training courses relevant to your role
- Able to occasionally work outside normal working hours (weekends/evenings)
- Comfortable and confident working at height
Desirable
- Completed training or qualification in mechanics engineering electromechanical disciplines or comparable level obtained through experience.
- Knowledge or understanding of hydraulics is desirable.
- Previous experience of working on plant HGVs or agricultural equipment
- LGV Class 2
- CPC
- Diesel engine Mechanics experience
