Job Description
The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in our kitchen team assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations ensuring meal quality and maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation activities.
- Oversee and manage the kitchen staff fostering teamwork and maintaining high morale.
- Ensure that all food served meets the established quality and presentation standards.
- Assist in developing new recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as necessary to maintain inventory.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations including food hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
- Address any kitchenrelated issues promptly and effectively to maintain service flow.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques kitchen management and food safety regulations.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new recipes and cooking methods.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
