Overall Position Summary and Objectives
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Scientific Manager to support the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) implementation of the NIH Data Management and Sharing policy. The revised overall NIH policy for data management and sharing went into effect on January 25 2023 (NOTOD21013). That policy requires that almost all applications to NIH contain data management and sharing plans (DMS plans) that describe the data to be collected the tools or software that will be used to analyze the data the standards that will be used to describe the data the plans for data preservation any plans to limit access to the data and timelines for sharing the data.

Statement of Work Details
Researches and evaluates the operation of the organizations scientific programs.
- Each Council Round evaluate data management and sharing plans in the NIMH data sharing infrastructure as assigned. 1
Researches interprets and summarizes background materials from a variety of scientific sources.
- Attend evaluation team meetings. 2
Compiles data and creates and prepares graphs slides and presentations.
- Work with the assigned program officers for each award if they have questions about the evaluation or want help evaluating a revised DMS plan. 3
Performs logistical planning of various scientific meetings lectures workshops.
- Attend meetings training and conferences in support of program initiatives.
Plans organizes and participates at a senior level in technical meetings and consultations.
- Maintain ongoing proactive communication with key personnel throughout the initiative; gather provide and exchange information with Network investigators their staff and other relevant individuals.
Reviews and evaluates the performance of the organization.
- Work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives on the development of strategic plans initiatives solicitations and consultation activities.
Analyzes existing scientific programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Research and assemble outlines of new milestone proposals for evaluation by staff.
Develops and prepares various scientific reports.
- Track project progress and provide regular reports.
