Job Description
Northwest Partners is looking to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Privacy) to work on a project with one of our premier clients in the Social Media industry.
Applicants must be able to work for any US employer without additional work visa sponsorship.
- Develop robust privacy detection methods to continuously assess and monitor for gaps in the organizations privacy posture.
- Assist in privacyrelated incident response efforts including technical investigations of privacy incidents identifying root causes and recommending mitigation and remediation actions.
- Stay uptodate with global privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA) and ensure organizational practices comply with relevant privacy laws and standards.
- Collaborate with legal compliance development and product teams to incorporate privacy best practices into new products and features.
- Advocate for privacy by design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain detailed documentation of privacy assessments testing and related activities.
- Generate regular reports for management providing insights into privacy risks and mitigation strategies.
- Proven software development experience in largescale data environments focusing on building detection systems.
- Proficiency in Go for building scalable services with additional experience using SQL and Python to develop largescale data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of core privacy concepts including data minimization purpose limitation data sovereignty transparency and data retention.
- Demonstrated experience in privacy assessments data protection and compliance.
- Indepth knowledge of global privacy regulations and standards (e.g. GDPR CCPA).
- Ability to operate as a selfstarter finding creative solutions to complex problems with minimal guidance.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Familiarity with privacyenhancing technologies and data anonymization techniques.
- Strong skills in offensive security and privacy testing with a focus on privacy concerns.
- Knowledge of web and mobile security concepts including OWASP Top 10.
- Understanding of data handling processes data flows and lifecycle management.
- Relevant certifications in privacy and data protection (e.g. CIPP/E CIPM CIPT OSCP).
