Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


We are currently seeking a Planning Engineer to join the utilities department in the Central Processing Plant. The successful candidate must have experience of designing and operating and maintenance of Ammonia Refrigeration plants, Pack chillers and HVAC units. In addition, candidate should have experience on utilities function of plants in terms of designing and operation.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule that aligns with operational requirements and minimizes downtime.
Plan preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Coordinate with production, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure maintenance activities are scheduled efficiently and without disrupting the workflow.
Ensure that all planned maintenance activities are performed on time and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Resource Allocation:

Determine the necessary resources (e.g., materials, labor, tools, and equipment) required for each maintenance task.
Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that materials, spare parts, and tools are available when needed.
Manage maintenance work orders and ensure proper documentation of required resources, labor, and completion time for each task.
Ensure that maintenance teams are adequately staffed and that the right personnel are assigned to specific maintenance tasks.
Work Order Management:

Create, prioritize, and track work orders for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
Monitor the progress of maintenance work orders, ensuring they are completed within scheduled timelines.
Review work orders to ensure they include detailed instructions, required resources, and safety measures.
Close completed work orders and update the maintenance database with relevant information and any issues encountered during the process.


Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in the Ammonia Refrigeration plants, Pack chillers, HVAC units, operations and Maintenance.
A good knowledge of utility equipment like Boilers, Air compressors, Refrigeration systems, Fire fighting system, Water Purifying and distribution systems.
Strong technical knowledge of machinery, equipment, and maintenance processes.
Proficiency in using maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS, SAP PM) to schedule and track maintenance activities.
Ability to develop detailed maintenance schedules and coordinate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Analytical skills to assess asset performance, interpret data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring that all maintenance activities are documented and tracked accurately.
Budget management skills and the ability to control maintenance costs while maintaining equipment reliability.
Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with different departments (operations, procurement, safety, etc.).
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address maintenance challenges and unexpected equipment failures.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead maintenance teams, coordinate with external contractors, and engage with senior management.
Customer-focused, ensuring that equipment reliability supports overall business objectives.
