We are looking for a Production Accountant / Data Analyst to perform a variety of tasks in a Construction Industry amongst various businesses. The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills as there will be communication across several teams. This role will help analyze costs going out estimated as well as a comparison to actual. Additionally as this is a newer position the candidate will help develop processes SOPs and help identify efficiencies and automation thru Excel Google Sheets and tech software.
Specific Responsibilities
Material Ordering Process:
Streamline and help create an automation for Ordering Materials based on inputs received (Mainly Google Sheets/ Excel / Tech stack)
Ordering and tracking material orders through multiple distribution outlets
Reviewing Vendor Material invoice compared to Estimate and Order procured
Identifying analyzing waste factor
Labor Purchase Order Process:
Creating purchase orders for Labor work based on project scope
Compare PO to Actual work completed and final approval
Streamline / Create automation for labor PO Process (google sheets / Excel / Tech Stack)
Total Tracking of Payment of Costs:
All projected costs compared to obtaining and tracking payment of all costs in actual. (Has each material Procured been paid has each labor of trade been paid what is pending)
Construction Industry niche work:
Mainly work will begin with US Residential Exterior Home construction work
Roofing Siding Windows Gutter Painting.
Will need a big emphasis on identifying materials & Labor based on the Trade of work as mentioned above.
There is a huge need and gap for identifying revenue and costs in comparison to these trades vs as a whole within 1 customers house work being done.
Intangible skill sets:
Positive mindset to understand this is a new role there will be a need to be flexible adaptable willing to listen trial and error and change processes and procedures until we identify a best case process.
Creating SOPs and training protocols. Creating DOCs with screenshots video samples how to instructions will be key in this role to help streamline processes.
Conversation and meetings with clients being professional willing to learn and also ask relevant questions to understand and provide constructive feedback to client to change processes.
Autonomy there will be a lot of autonomy in the role to help create the processes taking time to learn and research information and technical terms needed to be grasped.
Timing Shift:
USA Time 85; 96 (Eastern)
Partnering with Me/Owner.
I look for an individual that has a large positive mind set that wants to understand the role and find ways to make the role better. This is a new position to try and tackle and can be very fulfilling for the right person. Working with me the candidate will need to understand my schedule and time limitations thus getting a hold of me and scheduling time will be challening but will need to be organized and prioritized. I like to work with individuals that want to be in the role vs having to be in the role. I want an individual that wants to learn about this industry as it is very focused and requires alot of reseach on techcnical terms of exterior of a residential house and different procurement terms requried.
I look for individuals that will ask questions but those questions are provided with suggestions and ideas. If there is a knowledge gap that is ok what specific areas can we train on to help solve the knowledge gap I cant train on "EVERYTHING". There needs to be self learning required in this role and a want to do self learning to be very successful.
My team always has the mindset of "EXTRA". Always go above and beyond dont just do the base go one level deeper one step further do more be extra. Is our philosophy. My company provides a service level where yesterday was good but today we should be better. We know more today than we did yestrday so what can we change what process can we adapt. what waste can we eliminate.
