Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our team. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to specifications and plumbing codes. Your expertise in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings will be crucial in ensuring accurate and efficient installations.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and thread pipes using various tools such as saws, pipe cutters, and threading machines
Assemble and install a variety of pipes, fittings, and fixtures such as valves, elbows, and couplings
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other professionals to understand project requirements and provide input on pipefitting solutions
Inspect and test installed systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet quality standards
Repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning pipes, fittings, or fixtures
Perform preventive maintenance on piping systems to prevent leaks and other issues
Requisition materials and supplies needed for pipefitting projects
Pipe Installation and Assembly:

Install, assemble, and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings for various systems such as heating, cooling, water, and gas distribution.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using tools like saws, cutters, and pipe benders.
System Layout and Planning:

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine pipe placement and system design.
Plan pipe routes and connections for optimal system performance and efficiency.
Welding and Fabrication:

Weld or solder pipes and components to create leak-proof connections.
Fabricate pipe assemblies and support structures based on project requirements.
Testing and Inspection:

Conduct pressure tests to identify leaks and ensure system integrity.
Inspect pipes and systems for compliance with safety and quality standards.

Desired candidate profile

High school diploma or equivalent
Certification as a Pipefitter or completion of a related apprenticeship program
Proven experience as a Pipefitter in commercial or industrial settings
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Proficiency in using pipefitting tools and equipment
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting heavy pipes and working in confined spaces
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Skilled in using pipefitting tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
Knowledge of different pipe materials and their applications.
Physical Skills:

Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in challenging environments.
