Job Description
The Nursing Assistant is responsible to work cooperatively with the supervisor and other staff in developing implementing and evaluating individual medical care and programming. The Nursing Assistant is responsible to provide direct services to the individuals including assisting with personal cares health care maintaining a clean safe living environment meal preparation training needs and assisting the individuals in every aspect of their lives.

- Provide handson assistance encouragement mentoring and guidance.
- Ensure the comfort safety and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around getting in and out of bed dressing bathing personal hygiene and more.
- Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
- Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
- Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks games and social events.
- Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
- Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
- Document progress milestones and action steps.
Qualifications :
What We Look For:
Must have completed an approved nursing assistant/CNA training and testing program within 10 years of hire date. Must provide a certification or transcripts of curriculum taken. Certification does not have to be current but may not be revoked.
If you have completed higher education in the medical field you may also qualify for the role in lieu of a nursing assistant certification. Additional qualifications can be discussed during the interviewing process.
Minimum requirements:
- 18 years or older to work in residential adult programs and must be at least 21 years or older to work in child foster care homes.
- Prefer experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Must have a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record as determined by Dungarvin policy. (Proof of valid DL is required).
- Current auto liability insurance.
- Computer skills
- Ability to perform personal cares
Additional Information :
RETENTION BONUS:
The retention bonus is not applicable for current Dungarvin employees.
Hours Worked:
May be full or parttime; with a mixture of weekday and weekend hours. All persons in this position should be prepared to work weekends and holiday shifts.
