Job Description
Join our team and be part of something bigger! Were looking for experienced CDL A Drivers who share our commitment to the environment our customers regulators and our families. Traveling to locations on your assigned route you will be responsible for packing transporting and properly disposing of waste material in accordance with our environmentally responsible policies and procedures. This position requires 24 overnights per month (with paid hotel expenses and nightly per diem).
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal state and local rules and regulations. Label containers and complete preprinted manifests / work orders. Schedule shipments into or off site.
- Performs warehouse work related to receipt shipment storage distribution or delivery of waste materials. Loads unloads moves or stores items according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping duties.
- Operates a hand truck forklift or other heavy equipment.
- Classify segregate and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment. Conducts lab pack operations. Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
- Performs various regulatory compliance and safety tasks including but not limited to: Pretrip inspections of vehicle report all losses spills accidents and safety violations to supervisor immediately. and resolve leaking containers/containers in nonDOT shippable condition.
- Ongoing contact with all levels of Customers on a daily basis in delivering promoting and collecting waste containers. Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications :
To qualify you must possess a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License. By law you must be at least 21 years of age. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Preferred qualifications are TWIC Card Hazmat and Tanker endorsement (candidates will be expected to obtain as a condition of employment after hire) and any experience operating vac trucks combo vehicles and rolloffs. As you will interact with customers and internal staff fluency in English (verbal and written) will be important.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a DOT physical drug test and DEA background check.
