Job Description
Offer contingent on position being awarded.
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for VA members and their families. The Critical Care RN is responsible for providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients monitoring their vital signs administering medications and implementing lifesaving interventions. They collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support families during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments of critically ill patients monitoring vital signs and clinical changes continuously.
- Administer medications intravenous therapies and treatments as prescribed while observing for side effects and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the patients specific needs.
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track patient status and respond promptly to any critical changes.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis treatment options and recovery processes.
- Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as necessary maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments interventions and outcomes in accordance with facility policies.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and sterile environment in the critical care setting.

Qualifications :
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Three (3) years current experience as a critical care nurse.
- Current full active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State Territory or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.
- National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEXRN) to obtain a nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Education Required:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information :
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
