Job Description

Shift: MF days with possible weekends holidays and overtime

Maintenance Supervisor Position Summary: Position has the responsibility to coordinate and execute maintenance of the Brownsville Plant.

Maintenance Supervisor Primary Objectives:

The Maintenance Manager ensures safety of Lignetics and contract personnel through use of best safety practices (LOTO confined space electrical safety Safety Concern Forms incident investigation etc.)
Responsible for the maintenance operations concerned with the installation and repair of all machinery and other mechanical and electrical equipment used in the production operation.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure safe working conditions minimal production downtime and equipment sustainability
Maintain inventories and order parts as needed for equipment
Consult obtain bids and work closely with outside contractors
Supervise and train Millwrights and LME apprentice to troubleshoot all equipment on plant site
Manage and participate in the rebuild or repair of pellet mills conveyors screws gearboxes chains using hydraulic pneumatic and electrical troubleshooting skills
Prioritize and delegate maintenance schedules and activities track production down time schedule maintenance days and weekend projects
Drive improvement in all maintenance systems by learning and supporting the Maintenance Excellence program
Provide regular reports to Plant Manager regarding safety and maintenance concerns and projects
Participate in employee performance management hiring disciplinary and termination meetings

Maintenance Supervisor Knowledge Skills Abilities:

High School diploma or GED required
Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) card preferred
Journeyman Millwright card preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in journeyman level millwright or equivalent experience
PLC knowledge a plus
Basic understanding of electrical concepts
Project planning & implementation PM program experience and supervisory experience preferred
Experience developing/implementation/managing PM programs preferred
Basic knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word Excel Outlook)


Working Conditions: The Maintenance Manager will spend time in the plant working on equipment and/or directing his team to complete projects or repairs. In addition office time will be used for planning scheduling and reporting.

Will need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
Will need to walk climb ladders stoop kneel or crouch to inspect site conditions as needed
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including eye and ear protection respiratory protective gear fall prevention harnesses and other gear that may be required for access to certain areas of a Lignetics facility
Good reasoning and problemsolving skills
Will be exposed to slippery surfaces pinch points trip and fall hazards and overhead obstacles
Must be able to work under a variety of weather conditions
