- The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements in vehicle geometry specifically focusing on Closures through part tooling or design actions.
- Analyze complex Closures and associated components using various measurement systems such as Meisterbock quality assurance fixtures laser trackers CMMs and InLine Vision Stations.
- Perform data analysis organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes in Closures.
- Collaborate with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions for Closures.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions for Closures through comprehensive data analysis.
- Proactively monitor trend charts and engage with crossfunctional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics related to Closures.
- Interact with suppliers both internal and external to communicate issues and drive resolution specific to Closures.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills; knowledge in basic statistics and process control is required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T and the use of gauges and fixtures particularly with relevance to Closures.
- Proficiency in Excel PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
