Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PMC Bathymetric Survey Supervisor to lead and oversee bathymetric surveying activities for a highprofile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra Iraq. The Bathymetric Survey Supervisor will be responsible for managing survey teams ensuring accurate underwater data collection and verifying compliance with project specifications and standards. This role requires expertise in hydrographic surveying leadership skills and experience in largescale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all bathymetric survey operations including underwater mapping and data acquisition ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Manage the preparation review and validation of hydrographic and bathymetric data charts and reports.
- Coordinate with project management engineering teams and contractors to ensure bathymetric data supports design and construction activities.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of fieldwork performed by survey teams maintaining compliance with international standards and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance to survey teams resolving challenges or discrepancies encountered during underwater data collection.
- Conduct quality assurance and control (QA/QC) checks on bathymetric survey methods tools and results.
- Oversee the maintenance calibration and operation of bathymetric survey equipment such as multibeam echosounders and sonar systems.
- Support the preparation and delivery of survey outputs including charts GIS data and 3D models.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safety standards during all bathymetric survey operations.
- Train and mentor survey staff promoting technical excellence and professional development.
Qualifications :
- Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Hydrography Geomatics Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 812 years of experience in bathymetric or hydrographic surveying with a focus on Oil & Gas or marine construction projects.
- Proven experience in supervising bathymetric survey teams for largescale infrastructure projects.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in bathymetric survey tools and software such as multibeam sonar systems GPS AutoCAD and GIS tools.
- Strong knowledge of hydrographic surveying principles techniques and international standards (e.g. IHO standards).
- Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to work in challenging environments including offshore and nearshore settings.
