The Special Education Teacher will work with students who have a range of learning emotional physical and developmental disabilities.
This role involves creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) collaborating with school staff and families and using effective teaching strategies to promote students academic and social growth.
As an Exceptional Needs Instructor you will be responsible for creating a supportive and structured classroom environment that fosters student growth. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student and ensure accurate records of their progress and IEP goals are maintained. Regular assessments will be conducted to determine students educational needs and progress and curriculum modifications will be made to accommodate varying abilities. You will also provide emotional and social support to students promoting a positive and inclusive learning experience. Collaboration with general education teachers specialists and families will be essential to ensure comprehensive support for students learning and development.
Requirements
All candidates must showcase a solid background as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar capacity with expertise in handling diverse caseloads. A bachelor s degree from a recognized institution is required while a master s degree is highly preferred. To qualify for this position applicants must hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement in special education as no other certifications will be accepted.
