As a Data Engineering Leader at IKEA you will drive and shape the future of our data capabilities. Your primary role will be to design and develop data products and enhance data platforms while leading a crossfunctional team of data engineers. You will be an instrumental figure in advising business functions to maximize value from data ensuring that insights and conclusions are readily available and easily accessible across the organization.
Assignment
- Drive continuous improvement collaboration and knowledge sharing of methodologies tools and materials across the IKEA Data Engineering community.
- Provide technical leadership for Data Engineers across the organization fostering a culture of support and collaboration within the team and the Data & Analytics organisation.
- Collaborate with various parts of the organization to understand stakeholder needs and develop viable solutions.
- Support the establishment of data assets and lifecycle processes to maximize connected value.
- Ensure consistency by sharing relevant development techniques digital frameworks and best practices.
- Facilitate easy access to data engineering insights and conclusions for other parts of the organization.
- Support a culture of datadriven decision making across IKEA organizations.
- Work closely with data engineers data scientists platform leaders platform engineers architects analysts peers and other relevant roles across IKEA as well as within your team.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends.
- Assure quality and contribute to the testing of deliverables.

You are an experienced and motivated data engineering professional with a background in leadership and business development within complex organizations. You have the drive to innovate with data and technology to simplify and enhance efficiency at IKEA. You enjoy building relationships and networks have a growth mindset and are passionate about transforming data into actionable business insights.
To be successful in this role the following knowledge skills and experiences would be valuable:
Knowledge:
- Leadership and business development experience from complex organisations.
- Understanding of various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
- Proficiency with an appropriate set of languages technologies and frameworks particularly Databricks or Apache Spark and cloud environments.
- Experience with modern development techniques such as Agile and DevOps.
- Expertise in designing data pipelines data warehousing data modelling and database design.
- Deep domain knowledge within one or more areas like supply chain finance manufacturing procurement etc.

Qualifications
- Masters degree or similar/higher qualifications in engineering mathematics computer science information systems or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a project member in agile project environments and methodologies as well in running business activities.
- Preferred Minimum of 3 years in a similar senior role with at least 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent skills and knowledge
