Job Description

Tessenderlo Kerley Inc. is seeking an Operator C for our plant in Coffeyville Kansas. The role involves supporting plant and terminal operations while adhering to Tessenderlo Kerleys policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal regulations.

As a Plant Operator you will be part of a small onsite team and a dynamic organization that values innovation and creative thinking. Key Accountabilities (Performance Profile):

  • Load and unload trucks and railcars in accordance with Tessenderlo Kerley policy and OSHA EPA HM126 BOE and DOT regulations.
  • Read and record local instrumentation and obtain and analyze product samples to ensure product quality.
  • Contain clean up package and label hazardous waste according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA EPA RCRA HM126 and DOT regulations.
  • Outside operation of manual valves and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct irregularities with the process and process equipment. 
  • Participate in the plant safety program including presenting and attending required safety meetings reporting potential hazards and performing monthly safety inspections.
  • Routine inspection of vessels and equipment to prevent equipment failure or damage.
  • Maintain plant property in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Assist in plant projects including maintenance turnaround lockout/tagout and confined space entries.
  • Implement an emergency response plan and assist in the mitigation of emergency situations.
  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications :

Key Knowledge Skills and Behaviors:

  • HS diploma/GED minimum
  • Technical and mechanical experience desired
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate and work with coworkers and customers in a professional manner
  • Good mechanical and technical knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to read and understand material 
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate must know basic computer skills

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders as needed
  • Ability to lift/carry 40 pounds
  • Fit test and able to wear a fullface and halfface respirator
