What you will be doing
As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger focusing on retail and FMCG you will collaborate closely with Global Head Consumer & Retail Alexander Belderok and Partner Evelijn Zikken leveraging their vast international networks and expertise which will provide you with exceptional exposure to a diverse range of clients and opportunities. The retail and FMCG team has played a pivotal role in driving the success of Roland Bergers Amsterdam office having spearheaded one of the offices largest projects lasting 18 months to a resounding success.
Your role in the team will be vital leading projects to longterm success while also driving business development. You will work on diverse projects ranging from customer centric format strategies and category management to supply chain optimization and performance optimization. This diversity allows you to continually apply and develop your skills across different areas of expertise. Additionally you will help shape growth by identifying new opportunities forging strategic partnerships and expanding the client base. You will have the chance to collaborate directly with senior management providing you with a unique opportunity to cultivate a robust professional network ranging from executives entrepreneurs and experts within the retail and FMCG industry.
As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger you will:
Take the lead for modules in larger projects and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants) with a specific focus on retail and FMCG.
Take an active role in business development efforts.
Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
Contribute to Roland Bergers knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
Participate in officewide projects (e.g. indepth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications competencies and skills
You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
You have between four and ten years of experience in (strategy) consulting with a focus on retail and/or FMCG being highly preferred and/or experience in a strategic or operational role within the retail and/or FMCG industry. Prior experience in strategic projectbased work is required.
You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Microsoft Excel) visualizing presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint) and storytelling.
You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
You work with precision.
You are openminded.
You have good oral written and presentation skills and an excellent command of English and Dutch.

Application process
The application process consists of three parts. Firstly a selective cognitive assessment that is conducted online and monitored via Microsoft Teams. If you complete the assessment with a satisfactory result you will be invited to the First round of interviews. This round includes two case interviews and a personal interview.
Following a positive outcome from these interviews candidates will progress to the Final Day. The Final Day involves two (case) interviews with different Partners and/or Principals as well as a written case with a presentation component. At the conclusion of the Final Day you will receive feedback on the outcome of your application process.
