As a Tool And Die Maker, you will play a key role in our manufacturing process by constructing and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all tooling equipment. This position requires a strong background in machining and tooling techniques, as well as the ability to read blueprints and perform precise measurements using a variety of tools.
Responsibilities
Construct and assemble new tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering specifications.
Repair and maintain existing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures as needed.
Perform tooling changes and adjustments to support production requirements.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to identify and resolve tooling and production issues.
Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities for all tooling equipment.
Operate a variety of machine tools such as CNC mills, lathes, and grinders.
Inspect finished tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to ensure they meet quality standards.
Tool and Die Fabrication:
Design, construct, and assemble tools, dies, molds, and fixtures based on blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
Operate and program CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and milling machines to fabricate precise components.
Maintenance and Repair:
Inspect tools and dies to identify wear, damage, or defects.
Perform regular maintenance and repair tasks to ensure tools and dies remain in optimal working condition.
Replace or refurbish worn or damaged parts to extend tool life.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tool And Die Maker.
Proficiency in operating and programming CNC machines.
Strong understanding of machining and tooling techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
Expertise in precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities to address tooling issues and optimize designs.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers and production staff.
Attention to detail for producing high-quality, accurate components.
