Job Description
The Occupational Therapist will render occupational therapy services to inpatients/residents and outpatients planning and conducting screening/assessment developing treatment plans delivering or supervising the delivery of treatment intervention and education for the purpose of enhancing insight into disease; directing the patients/residents participation in selected tasks to restore reinforce and enhance the physical and mental performance learning skill development and productivity to improve selfcare cognitive and psychosocial skills and abilities and improve the patients/residents overall functional status in the home/work/community environment and to diminish or correct pathology/deformity including the fabrication of orthotics. The Occupational Therapist will function as an multidisciplinary team member within the hospital/rehab facility/psychiatric units and in interactions with other health care providers. Patients/residents served include all age groups (Infant through AdultGeriatric) but primarily AdultGeriatric.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Manager of Behavioral Health Services.
Qualifications :
- BS in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent required; MS degree preferred.
- Possesses current Maryland State license or is eligible.
- One year of acute/subacute experience in adult neuromuscular/musculoskeletal dysfunction and splinting in an acute/subacute/outpatient care environment preferred.
- Mental Health focus one year recent experience in a clinical psychiatric setting as evidenced by academic training and clinical experience in adult psychiatric disorders required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows or successful completion of a hospital training program required.
- Weekend Staff/Float Pool 1 year of acute care experience is required.
