AutoCAD Draughtsman

Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Draughtsman to join our team. As an AutoCAD Draughtsman, you will be responsible for producing technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software. You will work closely with engineers and architects to create accurate and detailed drawings that adhere to project specifications. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in AutoCAD and has a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers and architects to create technical drawings and plans
Ensure all drawings adhere to project specifications and industry standards
Review and modify existing drawings to meet project requirements
Prepare and update design documentation
Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for drawings
Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices
Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on time and within budget
Creating Technical Drawings:

Use AutoCAD software to create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for various projects such as buildings, infrastructure, mechanical parts, or electrical systems.
Interpret rough sketches, specifications, and instructions to develop precise and accurate drawings.
Ensure that drawings meet the required standards, codes, and specifications provided by the client or project team.
Collaborating with Engineers and Designers:

Work closely with engineers, architects, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and incorporate necessary changes into the drawings.
Participate in design discussions to suggest improvements and highlight potential design flaws.
Modify and update drawings as per feedback from team members or client specifications, ensuring all revisions are properly documented.
Preparing 2D and 3D Models:

Develop 2D layouts, floor plans, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and in accordance with industry standards.
Create 3D models or visualizations for more complex designs, including building structures, mechanical parts, or electrical systems.

Desired candidate profile

Proven experience as an AutoCAD Draughtsman or similar role
Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g. drafting, architecture, engineering) is a plus
High proficiency in AutoCAD software, with expertise in creating, modifying, and managing technical drawings.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications from architects, engineers, or clients.
Familiarity with industry-specific codes, regulations, and standards for drafting and design.
Strong understanding of design principles and construction or manufacturing processes.
Ability to create clear, accurate, and detailed drawings that are easy to interpret and implement.
