Industrial Designer

Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and creative Industrial Designer to join our team. As an Industrial Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products that meet our clients' needs and requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the designs are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and manufacturable. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for design, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

Develop design concepts and prototypes for new products
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand project goals
Conduct market research to identify current design trends and consumer preferences
Create 2D and 3D models of product designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software
Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders and gather feedback
Modify designs based on feedback and ensure that all specifications are met
Work closely with engineers and manufacturers to ensure that designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
Conduct usability tests and gather user feedback to refine designs
Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends and technologies
Product Design and Conceptualization:

Develop and design innovative products, ranging from consumer electronics and furniture to industrial tools and appliances.
Create product concepts, sketches, and prototypes based on market research, customer needs, and technological advancements.
Work closely with engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and meet user requirements.
Prototyping and Testing:

Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models of products.
Build physical prototypes or mockups to evaluate design concepts, functionality, and ergonomics.
Conduct usability testing with target users and iterate on designs based on feedback and performance tests.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field
Proven experience as an Industrial Designer or a similar role
Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino
Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics
Excellent sketching and visualization skills
Strong creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Portfolio showcasing previous design projects and concepts
Strong proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
Excellent sketching and conceptualization skills to visually communicate design ideas.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production technologies.
Knowledge of design for sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental impact.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods (e.g., 3D printing) and material testing.
