Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Carpenter to join our maintenance team in Biloxi. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining repairing and constructing wooden structures and fixtures throughout our facilities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.

  • Constantly:

    Construct erect install and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. i.e. (wood

    metal studs concrete etc.) framing walls and partitions putting in doors or windows building stairs installing

    cabinets and molding and many other tasks.

    Works independently to produce quality work.

    Analyzes operating procedures and keeps records of any activity or discrepancies to carpentry equipment.

    Interprets and communicates operating procedures and failures to upper management.

    Able to estimate materials and time required to complete various tasks.

    Able to follow oral and written instructions.

    Familiar with practices tool equipment and techniques associated with carpentry projects & equipment.

    Carries a two way radio at all times on their shift.

    Adheres to and aware of all property and departmental safety procedures.

    Working from blueprints or instructions from supervisors: for layout measuring marking and arranging materials

    in accordance with local building codes.

    Constructing wooden forms for pouring concrete or erecting scaffolding.

    Cutting and shaping wood plastic fiberglass or drywall using hand and power tools such as chisels planes

    saws drills and sanders.

    Determines quantities and requests supplies orally or in writing.

    Cleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites.

    Provide incredible customer service.

  • Occasionally:

    • There may be times the employee will be called upon to perform any task in other areas of the facility as a support team member.


Qualifications :

  • Two to five years of related experience in the casino industry as a Carpenter preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have or obtain equipment certification for forklift
  • Demonstrated proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and building materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with preventive maintenance procedures
  • Working knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • OSHA safety certification preferred
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions
  • Strong problemsolving and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Ability to work while wearing required personal safety equipment.

    Ability to perform heavy manual labor including bending stooping reaching digging carrying and lifting heavy

    objects up to 75lbs.

    Requires manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as lifting overhead twisting and

    bending while lifting climbing ladders and working in confined spaces including repetitive arm motion below at

    and above shoulder level.

  • WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Frequently work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment.

    Exposure to dust fumes odors chemicals and various noise levels
