Role
The Shift SupervisorUtilities is responsible for oversight of the Utilities operations and supervision of the department hourly operators. This role is suitable for recent graduates and experienced professionals.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for the safety leadership for the employees on shift and support for the department & mill.
- Position responsible for shift supervision of the Utilities Department. This includes supervising the operations of Recovery Boiler Evaporators 3 Power Boilers 2 Package Boiler 4 Turbine Generators Well Fields Water Softeners Filter Plant Wastewater Treatment Demineralizer and Ash Handling operation. This also includes water steam and power distribution systems.
- Evaluate and provide guidance to training needs within the department.
- Hold yourself your team members responsible for their duties behaviors and actions.
- Provides direct supervision of approximately fifteen (15) to twenty (20) employees assigned to the positions rotating shift (southern swing).
- Coordinates activities with other shift supervisor(s) throughout the facility.
- Coordinates operations and maintenance activities.
- Ensures all mill requirements for steam electric and water are met within the constraints of safety environmental mandates and cost effectiveness.
Qualifications :
Requirements
- 35 years experience in a Utilities Department.
- A bachelors degree in chemical engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline OR equivalent experience in a Utilities operation is required.
- Must demonstrate proactive skills in problem identification and developing solutions.
- Must demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and organize a group of people to accomplish those tasks.
- Highly selfmotivated.
