The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of highquality drinking water managing wastewater and stormwater and reducing air noise and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country with nearly 6000 employees. DEPs water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the systems 2000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Bureau of Organizational Development & Human Resources (OD&HR) is the Agencys internal consultant/partner on organizational culture change and human resources matters for a workforce of approximately 6000 employees. We identify and respond to employee relations issues staff development needs and current and strategic talent requirements. We collaborate with the Agencys executive staff employees managers employee representatives employee affinity groups and other City agencies to develop sustainable policies procedures and practices. OD&HR ensures our operations is staffed with the best qualified developed and engaged employees. Our mission is to help DEP achieve its mission and strategic goals by providing excellence measurable impact and continuous improvements in organizational development human resources services professional development and training workforce planning and employee engagement.
ODHR is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to serve as the Supervisor of the Processing & Onboarding Operations unit. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations with a wide latitude for independent initiative judgment and decision making the selected candidate will supervise staff as well as perform organizational HR duties that include processing and onboarding new hires civil service title changes and salary adjustments. The selected candidate will coordinate New Hire Orientation logistics review Comprehensive Personal Documents (CPDs) and manage outside employment which includes dual employment and Conflict of Interest. In addition the selected candidate will manage and coordinate release request from other city agencies manage finger printing appointments and logistics as well as medical and drug screening appointments. The selected candidate will liaison with DCAS and bureau HR staff to disseminate information while keeping apprise of rules policies and procedures and utilize NYCAPS PMS PRISE CRM and PBI. Candidate will also prepare reports and documents utilizing Microsoft Word Excel Access PowerPoint and Outlook.
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in 1 above; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in 1 above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in 1 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
