The Team Youll Work With:
The NYC Mayors Office of Equity & Racial Justice (MOERJ) was established in October 2023 and serves as New York City governments centralized equity office. Focusing on developing critical equitydriven strategies across our diverse communities MOERJ includes the Commission on Gender Equity (CGE) the Young Mens Initiative (YMI) and the NYC Unity Project (UP) as well as multiagency bodies like the Pay Equity Cabinet (PEC) and the Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE).
The NYC Unity Project a division of the New York City Mayors Office of Equity and Racial Justice (MOERJ) works across city agencies to uplift engage and better serve New York Citys diverse Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer (LGBTQ) community leading centralized outreach engagement and strategic programming.
The Unity Project works with agency partners (e.g. Department of Health and Mental Hygiene or Department of Youth and Community Development) to develop innovative programs including establishing budgets scopes of work requests for proposals outcome metrics tracking systems marketing and implementation strategy. These programs are implemented incommunity through contracted communitybased organizations.
The Unity Project coordinates City agencies to collaborate on programs informationsharing and engagements to serve the LGBTQ community and educates both internally and externally on LGBTQ cultural competency and Unity Project programming and services.
The Problems Youll Solve:
The Senior Program Manager will work closely with the Director to oversee a portfolio of unique and innovative programs. Duties include but are not limited to:
Executive Support:
Serve as the key point of contact for the Director providing comprehensive administrative and managerial support. Coordinate meetings liaise with external partners lead interagency
convenings and contribute to strategic planning and the development of new programs practices policies and communications. Additionally create marketing materials and spearhead
internal and external community engagement.
Program Management:
oCollaborative Program Development: Actively engage with city agency liaisons to develop and design innovative programs and initiatives.
oComprehensive Program Oversight: Manage the entire program lifecycle from concept development and budget planning to scope of work procurement implementation and evaluation.
oPartner Coordination: Foster strong working relationships with agency partners providing support with partner engagement budget adjustments and addressing complex challenges.
oMilestone Tracking: Ensure that all parties are on track to meet critical program milestones effectively managing the implementation process across partners.
Grant Administration:
Work with agency partners to develop and oversee a Grant program including concept development budgeting procurement and scope of work. Oversee the entire grant lifecycle from
application review and selection to disbursement and monitoring. Foster strong working relationships with grant recipients including documentation partnerships and marketing. Develop and
implement evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of grantfunded projects and generate comprehensive reports.
Interagency Coordination and Convenings:
Facilitate collaboration and knowledgesharing among city agencies to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to the LGBTQ community. Convene regular meetings to discuss
emerging issues share best practices and coordinate responses to community needs.
Community Engagement:
Establish strong relationships with communitybased partners working regularly with the Mayors Community Affairs unit and other City Agencies to build authentic connections with diverse
providers advocacy groups and other stakeholders serving the LGBTQ community.
Information Sharing:
Manage marketing and promotion of Unity Project programs and initiatives including regularly updating the UP websites social media collateral and other content to provide accurate and
timely information to New Yorkers.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
About You:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and at least four to five (45) years of professional experience OR an advanced degree and two to three (23) years of relevant professional
experience.
Selfstarter with the ability to work with considerable independence and entrepreneurial skill; problem solver with strong organizational skills and attention to detail; exceptional written and
verbal communication skills: ability to learn quickly follow instruction and thrive in a fastpaced environment; and ability to meet deadlines and communicate needs and challenges.
Experience in program management including administering governmentfunded contracts and overseeing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Cultural competency in working with the LGBTQ community including prior experience working with LGBTQ populations and extensive connections to LGBTQ communitybased
organizations.
Capacity to creatively design communicate and market timely information to the public in a sensitive and engaging manner.
Preferred prior government experience and/or significant experience in the nonprofit education or social services sector.
Ability to work across diverse communities including racial ethnic gender and sexual diversity.
Salary:
The City of New York Office of the Mayors compensation package includes a market competitive salary and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role is $75000$100000. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on candidate experience and expertise and other factors.

Qualifications :
1. Graduation from an accredited college with a baccalaureate degree; or
2. Graduation from an accredited community college plus two years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities; or
3. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus four years of experience as described in 2 above; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
