Principal Administrative Associate I10124 Open to candidates who are permanent or eligible 55a candidates who meet the minimum qualification requirements.
The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is charged with the creation and oversight of programs policies services and environments that support physical and socioemotional health and promote primary and reproductive health services health equity social justice safety and wellbeing for New York City families and children. The Division is comprised of the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health the Bureau of Early Intervention the Office of School Health and the Bureau of Administration. The vision of the DFCH is that every child woman and family recognize their power and is given the opportunity to reach their full health and development potential. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Maintain webbased information system
Maintain documents a) Organizes and maintains filing system (paper and electronic) for client charts including ensuring that they are secured at the end of every business day b) Organizes and maintain a system for NFP handouts and other written materials
Maintain office functions a) Answers and properly directs all calls and faxes from the public to appropriate program staff b) Maintains and orders equipment and supplies for the team
Maintain confidentiality and adheres to HIPPA regulations
Maintain billing system.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Organized and good at multitasking
Trained in customer service able to answer phones and emails as a professional both in dealing with the public other city agencies and DOH staff
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Outlook

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in 1 above; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory fulltime progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in 1 above;
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in 1 above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 years.
