The Office of Emergency Preparedness and Responses work focuses on promoting and protecting public health through emergency preparedness and response; and recognizes that social inequities negatively impact our efforts to maintain and improve the health of NYC during and after a disaster. With these inequities in mind OEPR is also working to improve its application of a social justice and racial equity lens to its emergency preparedness and response work. OEPRs employees are expected to align their work with OEPRs efforts to combat the harmful effects of systemic injustices on communities and work towards the most equitable postdisaster public health outcomes possible.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Design and develop emergency field operations training programs and associated materials
Coordinate and manage the delivery of training programs. Maintain a keen understanding of training trends techniques and best practices.
Work closely with the emergency field operations planners and external stakeholders to ensure training program is up to date and complies with current response plans.
Assist in the development and implementation of a training program evaluation framework.
Monitor employee performance and compliance to training programs.
Serve as lead facilitator for all trainings and spearhead facilitator recruitment onboarding and engagement.
Assist in the development and implementation of a facilitator evaluation program.
Serve in an emergency role for a public health emergency as needed.
Participate in Bureauled emergency drills and exercises.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
12 years of training experience or instructional design and development
12 years of experience working in emergency management
Exceptional writing communications and interpersonal skills
Excellent presentation group facilitation and public speaking abilities
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
Creative and strategic problemsolving capabilities
Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Articulate360 and Samaritan
