Job Description

The Division of Disease Controls mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification surveillance treatment control and prevention of infectious diseases which is achieved through varied and interrelated endeavors of its seven Bureaus. The Bureau of Hepatitis HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (BHHS) mission is to improve the lives of New Yorkers by ending transmission illness stigma and inequities related to viral hepatitis HIV and sexually transmitted infections. BHHS accomplishes its mission through testing initiatives; prevention care and treatment programming; epidemiology and surveillance; training and technical assistance; community engagement; social marketing; policy advocacy; and racial equity and social justice initiatives. BHHSs over 500 staff members work across eight programs: Administration HIV Care and Treatment HIV Epidemiology HIV Prevention Policy and External Affairs Racial Equity and Social Justice Initiatives STI and Viral Hepatitis.

BHHSs STI Program seeks an Outreach and Training Coordinator to support the development delivery and improvement of STI communityfacing outreach and training activities. The Outreach and Training Coordinator will report to the Director of STI Outreach and Training.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Assist in the coordination of STI Programs Outreach and Training activities.
Analyze pre and post training evaluation data for STI Programs training sessions to improve future training delivery.
Coordinate STI Program activities in Salesforce (a partner relationship management platform) including overseeing data entry conducting quality assurance and creating reports.
Use data (including Salesforce and programmatic data) to identify priority populations neighborhoods and organizations to reach through STI outreach activities.
Assist in the development and delivery of trainings for community partners on behalf of STI Programs.
Use participant evaluation data from STIs daylong STI 101 training for nonclinical inperson and virtual to improve the training curriculum.
Liaise with other Health Department bureaus to collaborate on outreach activities.
Stay abreast of current information on STIs HIV and other sexual health topics.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
Community engagement experience.
Experience with the Salesforce platform.
Knowledge of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV.
Strong project management skills.
Strong public speaking skills.
Passion for reducing racial inequities.
Ability to crosscollaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks.

Qualifications :

1. For Assignment Level I (only physical biological and environmental sciences and public health) A masters degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological or environmental science or in public health.
To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above candidates must have:
1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological environmental or social science and one year of fulltime experience in a responsible supervisory administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or
2. A masters degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical biological environmental or social science and three years of responsible fulltime research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least a masters degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in 2 above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in 1 and 2 above.

NOTE:
Probationary Period
Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
