Job Description

Audit evaluate and monitor the City of New Yorks employment programs practices policies and procedures to ensure that individual City agencies and the City as a whole maintain a firm and effective affirmative employment program of equal opportunity for minority group members and women employed by or seeking employment with City government.

The Equal Employment Practices Commission is seeking an Administrator of Audits and Executive Services (AAES) to perform highly confidential and responsible administrative work under the direction of the Commission and the Executive Director or designee. The successful candidate must be detailedoriented have excellent verbal and written communication skills have strong interpersonal skills and act as a liaison between the Board of Commissioners the Executive Director and the Senior Management team of the agency.

Typical tasks include but are not limited to:

Prepares extremely important complex and confidential correspondence relative to the mandates of the Commission Executive Director and senior staff.
Schedule activities and make arrangements (appointments meetings facility usage etc.) for the Executive Director and/or Board of Commissioners.
Update/send weekly chronological file to Board of Commissioners to ensure they remain abreast of workrelated issues.
Respond to inquiries from the Board of Commissioners staff local agencies and members of the public.
Manages the physical and electronic storage and organization of EEPC documents and maintains the agencys shared drive.
Coordinate distribution of documents for Commission meetings and support the needs of the Board of Commissioners senior staff and other attendees if any.
Attend record and transcribe Commission meetings agency conferences and other meetings as requested.
Coordinates audits by scheduling appointments receiving and logging agencies confidential written materials monitoring submittal of audit documents checking and maintaining audit records and furnishing information to auditors.
Performs data entry transcription and administrative office work using Microsoft Office Suite and/or other automated office systems or equipment.
Perform budgetrelated functions including drafting memos for remitting payments to vendors tracking budget code balances tracking/verifying payment status etc.
Serve as a liaison between the Administrative Research and Audit units to facilitate completion of the audits in the annual plan.


WORK LOCATION: 253 Broadway Suite 602 6th Fl. New York NY 10007

HOURS/ SHIFT: MondayFriday; 35 hours/week


Qualifications :

1.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of satisfactory fulltime paid experience in a responsible secretarial or supervisory capacity.
2.An associate degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of satisfactory fulltime paid experience in a responsible secretarial or supervisory capacity.
3.A high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of satisfactory fulltime paid experience in a responsible secretarial or supervisory capacity.

NOTE: Probationary Period
Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
