Launched in 2015 IDNYC is the largest and most successful municipal ID program in the country!
IDNYC is a card for all New Yorkers regardless of their immigration status. IDNYC benefits all city residents including those from some of our most vulnerable communities the unhoused youth the formerly incarcerated and others who may have difficulty obtaining a governmentissued photo ID.
IDNYC is recruiting for three (3) Community Associates to function as Enrollment Specialists.
The IDNYC card is free for all New Yorkers. Enrollment Specialists will be responsible for the enrollment of applicants at walkin centers throughout the city. He/she will meet with the applicants review all necessary documents access the IDNYC enrollment database and gather all necessary information from the applicant while completing the enrollment process. Enrollment will also include taking a photo of the applicant and scanning all documents into the database. As the Enrollment Specialist will be dealing with highly sensitive documents confidentiality and discretion is important to the role.
Reporting directly to the Intake Supervisor IDNYC the Enrollment Specialists will:
Review applicants documents for completeness; ensure IDNYC applicants have all
necessary paperwork and documentation required to complete the IDNYC enrollment process.
Notify applicants of required or missing documentation and inform applicants of how to obtain
official documents from local state and or federal government agencies if necessary.
Navigate the enrollment database; scan all authenticated official documents into the Municipal
I D database; dataenter all demographic and relevant applicant information necessary to
process the completed application; and ensure that all information is entered accurately.
Use specialized equipment to review the authenticity of documents presented.
Ensure that all original documents submitted by applicants are reviewed using only the
designated specialized equipment and process adhering to strict confidentiality protocols
and procedures.
Take photos of applicants for the IDNYC card and gather electronic signatures utilizing
Municipal ID program cameras and equipment; and be responsible for the care and
maintenance of such equipment.
Finalize and submit the applicants complete IDNYC package and provide receipts.
Create organize schedule and present information to community audiences via public
speaking (conducting information sessions and setting up information tables) flyers
brochures and other relevant mediums.
Coordinate efforts to facilitate communications at various sites throughout the five
boroughs of New York City to support applicants in the IDNYC enrollment process
and provide adequate personnel coverage. Program.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
