Job Description
The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law preserve peace protect the people reduce fear and maintain order. The Certificate of Conduct and NonCriminal Fingerprint Unit processes applicants for Certificate of Conduct which are criminal history searches within the environs of New York City indicating whether or not the applicant has a criminal history. Certificates of Conduct are only issued under specific guidelines. The unit also takes NonCriminal Fingerprints which may be required to get certain permits or licenses.
The Certificate of Conduct and NonCriminal Fingerprint Unit is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Fingerprint Technician Trainee. The Fingerprint Technician Trainee under direct supervision will take fingerprints of applicants for employment or persons applying for licensure persons requesting Certificate of Good Conduct to obtain background checks. Maintain records on the number and type of fingerprints taken filed searched and other works performed.
Work Location: 1 Police Plaza
Hours/ Shift: 0900 x 1700 Sat/Sun RDOs
Additional Information:
In compliance with Federal Law all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Qualifications :
A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
