The successful candidate will serve as a Deputy Commissioner reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position will combine significant policy input and program impact at an agencywide level with direct control over all the resources necessary to operate an IT program using information technology in computer applications programming systems programming computer systems development data telecommunications data base administration planning of data/information processing user services or area networks the development of complex computer systems including staff budgeting and procurement.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Planning organizing and controlling major IT facilities and activities;
Managing the daytoday activities of a large IT operation serving as head of technology and/or as head of a unit responsible for one or more major operating functions;
Heading the operation of a very large IT program overseeing all components of the program
Overseeing special projects and initiatives.

HOURS/SHIFT
Day Due to the necessary technical management duties of this position in a 24/7 operation candidate may be required to be on call and/or work various shifts such as weekends and/or evenings.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of progressively more responsible fulltime satisfactory experience using information technology in computer applications programming systems programming computer systems development data telecommunications database administration planning of data/information processing user services or area networks at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive managerial administrative capacity in the areas of computer applications programming systems programming computer systems development data telecommunications data base administration or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties;
or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above. However all candidates must have at least a fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or recognized accrediting organization and must possess at least three years of experience as described in 1 above including the 18 months of executive managerial administrative or supervisory experience as described in 1 above.
