The New York City Comptrollers Office works to promote the financial health integrity and effectiveness of New York City government in order to strengthen trust secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers and build a more just equitable and resilient city. Led by an independently elected citywide official the comptrollers office provides checks and balances needed to hold City government accountable for budgeting wisely investing responsibly operating efficiently acting fairly living up to its obligations and promises and paying attention to the longterm challenges we face together.
The Bureau of Public Policy and Organizing advises the Comptroller on public policy issues confronting New York City to build a more just equitable and resilient City. Based on the teams policy analysis original research strategic organizing and engagement of New Yorkers the Bureau of Public Policy and Organizing develops innovative and datadriven public policy ideas provides the public with the information needed for transparency on services and operations to make government work better and organizes initiatives that reflect community voices. The Policy and Organizing team works closely in partnership with other bureaus to advise and support the Comptrollers office in fulfilling its core duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities of the Policy (City Management/Infrastructure) intern include but are not limited to:
Support policy research reports and data analysis on climate transportation infrastructure and city management topics
Conduct research identify and analyze data sources and contribute to policy recommendations
Review New York Citys outdoor dining program update the Comptrollers Offices management dashboard and analyze transit performance data
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Matriculation at an accredited college. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in college.
IMPORTANT:
Our office is located at the David Dinkins Municipal Building 1 Centre St. in Manhattan/New York.
All interns will work inperson in the office Monday Thursday 28 hours per week.
The employment period will be from June 2 July 31 2025.
Qualifications :
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June August each year.
