Job Description
The Senior Estimator is responsible for the accurate timely preparation of fullcost estimates for projects including the job scope and the complete detailed costing of resources equipment and materials to achieve an acceptable margin while providing the best opportunity to secure the business. The Senior Estimator estimates conceptual designbuild P3 lump sum and construction management projects. This individuals accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business as underestimations may cause significant financial losses and overestimations may result in an inability to win bids.
Qualifications :
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in construction/engineering or an appropriate field.
- Ten or more years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- AutoCAD experience is an asset.
- Able to read and interpret building specifications blueprints and asbuilds.
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to develop material and labour estimates.
- Mathematical and analytical skills necessary to interpret jobcost reports.
- Able to use costestimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids
