Job Description

Union: NOWU
Site: Toronto Rehabilitation Institute University Centre
Department: Nutrition Services
Reports to: TRI Nutrition Services Manager
Salary: $24.39 $25.22 (start rate in accordance with the collective agreement)
Status: Permanent FullTime
Hours: Up to 37.5 Hours/Week
Shifts: 7:00 3:00 and alternating weekends
Posted Date: October 24th 2024
Closing Date: October 31 2024

Duties

  • Assembling meals on the cold assembly beltline as per meal ticket request
  • Retrieving stocking and setting up food items and supplies at work stations
  • Disassembling cleaning and maintaining workstation and beltline area
  • Cold food production
  • Portioning prepared foods.

Qualifications :

  • New hires must have grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Good manual dexterity and organizational skills
  • Good team player
  • 6 months practical and related experience
  • Food Service Worker Certificate preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate preferred
  • Ability to read/understand short notes brief forms and memos
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift to 10 kg loading and unloading food trucks; pushing heavy food trucks during pick up and delivery of meals
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
  • Effective organizational interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies
  • Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Required to be available to work alternating weekends and statutory holidays and at least 3week days in a twoweek period
  • Work in Warm/Humid Conditions 
  • May be required to work at multiple areas as well as rotating shifts in emergency situations
