Job Description

Union: NonUnion
Site: Toronto Western Hospital
Department: Allied Health General Internal Medicine (subject to change based on departmental needs)
Work Model: OnSite
Reports to: Manager Allied Health
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Grade: D0:08
Salary: $42.21 $52.76 per hour
Shifts: Weekdays 8am 4pm and Rotating Weekends
Status: Temporary Full Time (until February 2026)
Closing Date: January 20 2025

Duties

  • Provides assessment and treatment for adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders
  • The successful candidate will work on a progressive interprofessional team participate in rounds meetings and quality initiatives and assist with coverage across other clinical service areas as necessary
  • SLP services are coordinated to provide a seven day a week service to our patients with all team members participating in a rotational service model

Qualifications :

  • Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology or equivalent; required
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and SpeechLanguage Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO); required
  • Ontario Association of SpeechLanguage Pathologist and Audiologists (OSLA) membership; preferred
  • 12 years experience in an acute care hospital; preferred
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of ICU general internal medicine and stroke population; preferred
  • Experience in professional education presentation and inservices; preferred
  • Recognizes and acts within the scope of practice of a speechlanguage pathologist
  • Understanding of health care teams and how the skills and competencies of all members contribute toward patient management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
